Philosophy and World View
I am interested in philosophy. I find Neopositivism of the early 20th century, Nihilism, and Taoism intriguing.

Ludwig Wittgenstein

My favourite philosopher. I should say that I was not 'converted' to this positivistic point of view by Wittgenstein but it was rather as he puts it in the preface of Tractatus: 'Perhaps this book will be understood only by someone who has himself already had the thoughts that are expressed in it- or at least similar thoughts.'

Lao Tzu

Tao Te Ching is a very old book but has surprisingly little metaphysical mumbo-jumbo inside. Influences of this purest of all mystic traditions can be seen in everything from Zen Buddhism to Ursula LeGuin's works (see the quotations- Handdarata is almost the same as Taoism), from Chinese culture to recent Hollywood movies (Tyler Durden of Fight Club speaks like Chuang Tzu), and finally, the design of this very website.

Friedrich W. Nietzsche

Like many others, I started reading philosophy with Nietzsche. Sometimes it is difficult to understand him, and he seems contradictory even within the same text. On the other hand, I still stand close his brand of Nihilism.
